Making a Painting Work

A good painting is a very personal statement by the artist and tells as much about the artist as the painting itself. We will talk about the whole process of putting a painting together, from the first concept, to small idea, value or color studies to a more finished product. Weather permitting students may work outside if they choose as the boat center has a multitude of great painting subjects...
Whidbey Island FAS needs to have enough commitments at least 2 months before the start of our workshops with out of state Instructors.
If you are interested in a workshop, please do NOT wait until the last moment to put down your deposit.
Whidbey Island Fine Art Studio (formerly Fall City Fine Art Studio) is located in South Whidbey Island, WA, in Langley. We are dedicated to providing education in high quality representational art for artists at every level. In a pleasant and well equipped environment, we offer classes and workshops led by nationally recognized instructor/artists.
Whidbey Island Fine Art Studio offers drawing and painting from the still life, figure and landscape - studio and plein air. Our classes and workshops are small and intimate, allowing for more individual attention and a personalized approach. Workshops and classes will be offered in Langley as well as some workshops at the Georgetown Atelier. We will have a shuttle to pick up students from the Ferry in Clinton if needed.
Langley is close to spectacular scenery, coastlines, farms and other viewpoints perfect for plein air painting. Whidbey Island FAS has a quiet and peaceful location that is inspiring for the fine artist. The instructors are top professionals and there are many comfortable accommodations available nearby.
